Marvin Miao Wang to lead the development and implementation of key backend and proprietary technologies that power Pixi+
Washington, D.C., U.S.A. – Pixi+ (“Pixi Plus”), owned by Pixi Plus Inc., which promises to be the only app users will ever need to find the next great movie or show to stream next, today announced they have welcomed Marvin Miao Wang as technical Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
This appointment comes amid rapid progress on the completion of the first version, or Beta, of the Pixi+ (“Pixi Plus”) app. The entertainment technology company, Pixi Plus Inc., which was selected as the grand prize winner of the 2022-2023 Draftbit international app idea competition, has recently accomplished several key milestones. These include the completion of all high-resolution designs and UI/UX in April 2023, and the completion of all required milestones in the development of the Pixi+ app MVP by the end of May 2023.
“Marvin will be key in the rapid development and deployment of Pixi+, with a special focus on the backend now that the frontend is largely completed. Marvin will lead cloud deployment and resource management, the implementation of custom logic and APIs, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies (AIML), data security and analytics, as well as the overall technology strategy needed to ensure Pixi+ can wow users from day one, with the capabilities to support the rapid customer growth we anticipate based on early user feedback”, explains Founder and CEO Brett Bergen.
Marvin brings over 14 years of experience as a software engineer, and has a M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. He is a full-stack developer, and specializes in cloud and backend development, data engineering, data security, AIML and data analytics.
Marvin has been a founding engineer at multiple startups, including Head of Data Engineering at Octane, and most recently as a Machine Learning Data Engineer at Meta. When he isn’t working on the next big thing, you can find Marvin playing jazz and classical music at venues across New York City.
Previous to officially joining Pixi Plus Inc. as Co-Founder and CTO, Marvin worked with Brett and the Pixi+ team for two months to demonstrate his technical and leadership abilities, and exceeded expectations.
“Marvin’s work migrating the Pixi+ prototype database to Google Cloud, streamlining the data architecture, and creating key APIs and logic allowed our team to beat our schedule, cost, and performance objectives for the Pixi+ Beta (MVP),” says Bergen. “We are thrilled to have him join the team as we prepare for launch.”
Pixi+ is now incorporating early user feedback to expand upon its MVP, and complete a robust version of the app by the end of June 2023.
